This was announced by the city mayor Anatoliy Fedoruk.
On September 1, pupils in Bucha came to the renovated schools that were destroyed by russian troops during the battle for Kyiv. The American non-profit organization GEM helped restore two schools and a private kindergarten.
The repairs lasted three months. A team of 400 people worked on the restoration of three educational institutions.
When russian troops were in Bucha, the windows and doors of school No. 5 were blown out by projectiles, and the roof was destroyed. It has now been repaired and the heating system restored. The school accommodates 1,600 pupils.
Blystavitska School No. 6 was also renovated. The windows and roof were also replaced here, and the heating system was repaired.
After the fighting, workers at the LimPoPo private kindergarten found shrapnel in toys and children’s beds.
GEM focused on those buildings that did not need repairs and required minimal investment to restore them as quickly as possible. The buildings were determined according to the recommendations of the city council.
In total, all 15 schools in the Bucha community have started work, although three of them are currently undergoing renovations.
