Both Zelensky and Putin doubt Trump’s ability to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours

Donald Trump once again promised to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, as reported by Kyiv24.

“We will settle the terrible war between Russia and Ukraine. I will settle it. I know Putin. I know Zelensky. I know both well. And I am going to settle this. It needs to be settled. We will establish peace through strength. I am the only candidate who can make such a promise: I can prevent a third world war 100%, because we have never faced the threat of weapons of mass destruction, and we have never had such a great threat of a third world war as we do now”, he said.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin does not understand how Trump intends to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. This was reported by the Russian propaganda publication “RIA Novosti” with reference to Putin’s press secretary Peskov. The administration of the Russian president states that there have been no contacts between their diplomats and the American politician on this matter.

Volodymyr Zelensky once again invited Donald Trump to Ukraine. He said this in an interview with the British channel “Channel 4 News”.

The President of Ukraine noted that he had spoken with Trump long before the full-scale Russian invasion, and the war topic was never raised. He also said that he hopes that the statements of the former U.S. president about his plan to end the war within 24 hours are nothing more than an election promise, not a plan to resolve the issue without Ukraine’s involvement.

“It can only be a political message, and that’s all. And my attitude towards it is the same. Because if it’s a political message, I’m not afraid. I understand: it’s an election period, I understand the difficulties, a complex period for the United States. If it’s just a message, let it be so. It’s politics. But if there is some formula, I should know about it”, said Zelensky.

At present, no one has been able to propose a “magic formula that would stop the war in Ukraine within 24 hours”. This is how the statements of former U.S. President Donald Trump were commented on by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell. He noted that he would be happy if such a miraculous plan really existed “because the whole world wants peace, especially Ukrainians who suffer from this war”.
