Fencer Olga Kharlan announced this on Instagram.
“Together with @tribuna_ua, we decided to put it up for a charity auction on the eBay platform, and the funds raised will go to the @bodro_clinic clinic for the rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers who have suffered as a result of the war”, she stated.
The first bid of $10,000 has already been made at the auction. All interested buyers have the opportunity to outbid the bid until August 30.
Earlier, Olga was disqualified from the World Championship for refusing to shake hands with a Russian competitor. She offered to salute each other with sabers instead. The Russian fencer declined, causing Olga to leave the strip. Later, after consultations with the IOC, the federation decided to allow Kharlan to compete in the World Championship.
