Executive Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis, the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU announced this.
The corresponding decision was supported by the ministers of the European Union.
“1 billion euros to Ukraine! After accelerated adoption, the EU will provide macro-financial assistance to the war-torn country. The money will go to different needs,” the Czech Presidency announced on Twitter.
Previously, the European Parliament gave the “green light” to allocate EUR 1 billion of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine.
