On October 18, Finland sent one truckload of back-up generators badly needed by Ukraine and two truckloads of personal protective equipment were sent in early November.
“As winter approaches, Russia has targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The situation is grave for the civilian population. Ukraine is now in very serious need of supplies for the energy sector, among other things. It is our duty to help,” said Finland’s Interior Minister Krista Mikkonen.
According to her, Finland will continue to deliver the assistance that Ukraine has requested.
According to the ministry, the aid operation is exceptional and the need for assistance is expected to continue for a long time.
