From the beginning of the month, Russia has attacked Kyiv with missiles and drones for the eighth time

Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Naiev, reported this.

“This night marked the eighth aerial assault on Kyiv since the beginning of May. The enemy launched the attack from various directions, utilizing all available resources, from drones to cruise missiles. The intensity of the fire on the capital was at its maximum, but thanks to a multi-layered principle of air defense echelon, all targets were detected and destroyed”, said Naiev.

According to him, the defenders continue to strengthen defensive positions along the state border line every day. The commander believes that the enemy’s objective is to sow panic and create chaos. The northern operational zone is fully under control. Naiev added that the group commanders and unit commanders are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy from breaching the airspace and crossing the border.

The Russians carried out a missile attack on Monday night. As of today, the Ukrainian air defense destroyed seven “Kinjal” missiles. The first one was destroyed during the Russian missile attack on May 4th. Ukrainian soldiers used the Patriot SAM system for that purpose.

As reported earlier, three people were injured as a result of the missile attack on Kyiv in the Solomianskyi district.
