From today, Kyiv public transport will be suspended for the duration of air raid siren

Kyiv public transport will suspend operations during the air raid sirens. The relevant decision was adopted by the Kyiv Defense Council. This was  reported by the website of the Kyiv City State Administration with reference to the first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration Mykola Povoroznyk.

“According to the recommendations of the State Emergency Service, starting today, the city introduces mandatory rules for the operation of all types of Kyiv public transport, during an air raid siren. According to the decision of the Kyiv Defense Council, CE “Kyivpastrans” and managers of private companies that provide passenger transportation services must suspend traffic during an air raid siren, choosing a safe place in accordance with the Traffic Rules, and ensure that passengers can leave the cabin. After that, the passengers should go to the nearest shelter,” Povoroznyk explained.

He also added that the metro, during the air raid siren, will not carry out transportation on above ground sections and will close the operation of open-type stations.

The decision will be effective from August 1, 2022.

The Kyiv City State Administration reminds that the map of shelters is posted on the Official Kyiv portal via the link, as well as in the city application “Kyiv Digital”.
