G20 considers resolution condemning Russian war against Ukraine – media

That’s according to Reuters, which saw a copy of the 16-page draft declaration.

“Most members strongly condemned the war in Ukraine and stressed it is causing immense human suffering and exacerbating existing fragilities in the global economy,” the document said.

At the same time, it states that “there were other views and different assessments of the situation and sanctions.”

The draft has not been adopted by the leaders and is likely to be opposed by Russia. A decision on the resolution was unlikely before Wednesday, diplomats said.

A two-day summit of the leaders of the G20 countries began on the Indonesian island of Bali on November 15, with much attention to be paid to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
