Germany initiates G7 foreign ministerial due to Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure

This was announced on Twitter by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, Ukrinform reports.

“Next week, as the country presiding over the G7, we will invite other partners at the level of foreign ministers to a meeting in Bucharest to initiate further support for Ukraine’s energy supply,” Baerbock wrote.

She called Russia’s attacks on civilian infrastructure “an intolerable, inhuman crime.” According to the minister, Putin is trying to plunge the people of Ukraine into cold and darkness. “He will never break their desire for freedom and our support,” said the head of the German Foreign Ministry.

Germany is chairing the G7 group throughout 2022.

A meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of foreign ministers will be held in Bucharest, Romania, on November 29-30. It will be chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
