Grain corridor: Four ships leave Ukrainian seaports for Africa

“Grain initiative: four ships with 129,000 tonnes of agricultural products bound for Africa, Asia, and Europe left the ports of Odesa region,” the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine posted on Facebook.

In particular, INCE ATLANTIC bulk carrier, which will deliver 44,000 tonnes of wheat to Kenya left the Odesa region port today. This is already the third ship loaded with Ukrainian grain bound for this African country.

Currently, 27 ships are being processed in the ports of Odesa region, on which 1 million tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products will be loaded. Two ships carrying 63,000 tonnes of agricultural products are moving along the grain corridor. As of December 19, 80 ships are awaiting inspection in the Bosphorus.

Since August 1, 569 ships have left the ports of Odesa region, carrying 14.3 million tonnes of Ukrainian food to Asian, European, and African countries.

As reported, in Istanbul on November 17, Ukraine, the UN, and Turkey agreed to extend the initiative for safe transportation of agricultural products across the Black Sea for another 120 days. The initiative started working on July 22, and the first ship with Ukrainian foodstuffs within its framework left the port of Odesa on August 1.
