“Attention is drawn, first and foremost, to how much goods goes to Africa, because there are many devastating reports of famine are coming from there as millions of people are suffering. As of today, throughout the period of the ‘grain initiative,’ 23 vessels carrying 640,000 tonnes of food have been sent there,” the deputy minister said.
Vysotskyi noted that 100,000 tonnes were sent from Ukraine as part of the UN Humanitarian Initiative. According to the deputy minister, the UN also announced the purchase of another 190,000 tonnes.
As reported, as of September 19, some 3.9 million tonnes of agricultural products were exported from Ukraine.
A total of 169 vessels carrying these products were released from Ukrainian ports, heading for Asia, Europe, and Africa.
