Grain corridor: Ukraine has already exported 3.7 mln T of corn, 2.6 mln T of wheat

As the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports, corn and wheat deliveries within the framework of the “grain initiative” have increased over the past seven days.

In particular, 214,300 tonnes of wheat were exported, an increase of 66,000 tonnes compared to the week before last. The total volume of wheat supplies is 2.6 million tonnes.

In addition, 354,000 tonnes of corn were shipped, an increase of 100,000 tonnes compared to the week before last. A total of 3.7 million tonnes of corn were exported through the “grain corridor”.

The Ministry reports that a total of 397 ships carrying 9 million tonnes of grain have left Odesa region seaports since the launch of the “grain corridor”.

The share of Africa in the total structure of wheat shipments is 25.16%. As noted, 23% of wheat was exported to countries suffering from a humanitarian crisis. As part of the UN World Food Programme, six ships loaded with 190,080 tonnes of cargo left Ukrainian ports.

Today, October 27, seven ships carrying 102,000 tonnes of agricultural products left Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi ports bound for the countries of Africa, Asia, and Europe as part of the implementation of the “grain initiative”.

As reported, Ukraine, Turkey, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres signed the Initiative on the Safe Transportation of Grain and Foodstuffs from the Ukrainian ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi at the proposal of the United Nations in Istanbul on July 22.

The first ship carrying Ukrainian food products left Odesa port on August 1.
