This was announced by Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence and the President’s representative in the Parliament, in a statement to RBC-Ukraine.
If they are on the military register, they acquire the status of military-liable individuals. Military-liable individuals travel abroad following the established procedures. This means that if there are specific documents allowing temporary travel, they will be able to go abroad. If not, like men, they will also be restricted from traveling abroad.
Venislavskyi noted that the Cabinet of Ministers issued a resolution regarding the procedure for military registration in compliance with this law, and the Ministry of Defense issued an order on the military registration of women.
The deputy informed that last year, the Parliament made amendments to Article 1 of the law on mobilization training and mobilization, which mandated that women with medical or pharmaceutical education be subject to mandatory military registration.
He also added that all other women with military-related specialties or those closely related to military affairs can voluntarily register from the same date. There are no plans to expand the list of specialties for mandatory registration for women.
Previously, the Verkhovna Rada passed Law No. 6482 regarding voluntary military registration for women. Women who enroll in military registration from October 1 will be unable to travel abroad.
