Klitschko urged Kyiv residents to stock up on warm home clothes and blankets

He said this in an interview with Babel.

According to Klitschko, the authorities are preparing for all possible scenarios. Residents should also do this and keep warm clothes on hand just in case.

“I ask everyone to prepare warm home clothes, warm blankets, because we do not rule out that the temperature in the houses will be several degrees below the norm. The norm is 21 degrees, but it could be 19 or 18,” the mayor said.

According to him, there may also be power outages.

“If there are power outages, we have generators. If there is no heating or no gas, we have reserves of fuel oil. We will be able to function autonomously for a while. But this is a fairly short period of time, that is required to solve the problem,” the Kyiv mayor said.

According to him, there are about three million people in the capital, 200 thousands of them are internally displaced persons. Another million have not yet returned to Kyiv after being evacuated in the spring.

“I want to make it clear, and I hope everyone understands it: Kyiv was the target of the aggressor, and the target of the aggressor remains. Not only Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk or Bakhmut. Kyiv is the main target, because it is the heart of the state. Are they able to come to Kyiv and capture the city now? I am sure that no, they cannot. In addition, we are much better prepared and have significantly more resources than, for example, six months ago. We see how effective air defense works. As the mayor of the city, I emphasize at every meeting abroad with our partners that we need the so-called iron dome over the capital. And I can say that modern Western weapons and equipment are being received, and the city is gradually becoming more protected,” the mayor assured.
