This was reported by the spokesperson of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pawel Wronski, to RMF FM.
Wronski noted that the potential shooting down of missiles involves several conditions.
“For example, there are technical considerations regarding the range of these missiles, as well as legal issues. What will happen if the debris from such a missile destroys someone’s property or causes someone’s death, since ultimately, the missile will not dissolve in the air”, he said.
Wronski mentioned that Ukraine is indeed asking its neighbors to shoot down enemy missiles from their territory.
“The Ukrainian side is making such a request, that Polish military, Polish air defense, shoot down missiles that are flying over Ukrainian territory”, Wronski added.
He stated that this is a matter for discussion and added that the potential shooting down of missiles involves several conditions.
It is worth noting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is intensifying calls to Western partners to better assist Ukraine in defending against Russian aggression: to accelerate and increase the supply of weapons, participate in shooting down aerial threats in Ukrainian skies, and support Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory.
