Polish farmers are blocking three directions at the border with Ukraine

This was reported by the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service Andriy Demchenko during a telethon broadcast.

According to the spokesperson for the SBGS, the blocking of these three directions continues:

  • “Rava-Ruska”,
  • “Yahodyn”,
  • “Uhryniv”.

And in fact, Polish farmers are not allowing any freight vehicles at all in the direction of Poland on all three of these directions, while several freight vehicles are allowed per hour in the direction of Ukraine. Demchenko reminded that the checkpoint “Yahodyn” is the largest infrastructure direction on the border between Ukraine and Poland.

It can pass 1200-1400 trucks per day. However, only 70 freight vehicles arrived in Ukraine during the past day. The SBGS states that as of the morning of April 4, there are about 400 trucks queued at the blocked checkpoints. There are also queues at unblocked checkpoints. In “Krakivets”, 500 trucks are queued, and in “Shehyni” – 450. The traffic on these directions is intensive, but due to the blocking of other checkpoints, there are queues.

Earlier, it was reported that Polish law enforcement officers detained Ukrainian journalist Mykhailo Tkach near the Polish-Belarusian border. The journalist was filming material about transit of goods between Poland and Russia and Belarus.

Journalists from “Ukrayinska Pravda” conducted an investigation, which revealed a significant increase in the transit of agricultural products from Russia through Belarus to Poland. It is noted that this includes oil, seeds, and animal feed.

The organizers of the blockade in Poland, the recently created “Committee for the Protection of Carriers and Employers in the Transport Industry”, claim that the action is economic and not political. However, their actions have not found support among the authorities and other organizations of carriers. Nevertheless, the protest is being actively supported by the consistent anti-Ukrainian and anti-European party “Konfederacja”, whose representatives are the most vocal in expressing anti-Ukrainian statements, fighting against Ukrainian refugees in the media, and already billing for assistance to Ukraine and its citizens.
