General Wiesław Kukuła, Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, explained that the missile came from the Caspian Sea, crossing the Polish border in the northeast of the country.
“It was a tough night for Ukraine. A combined saturation strike aimed at overloading their air defense with the help of drones followed by a missile strike, mostly from long-range aviation. We tracked most of these missiles in terms of scale and direction of their movement,” he said.
“One of these missiles crossed the Polish border and left it. Everything points to that, although we are still confirming and checking it on the ground”, he added.
Providing details, the general confirmed that the object was in Polish territory for about three minutes. The airspace was violated by approximately 40 kilometers.
Recall that on the night of December 29, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine. Later, the alarm sounded again in the morning. The enemy began actively shelling civilians and buildings with missiles and strike drones. The air raid alert was sounded three times and lasted nearly 5 hours. During the morning strike on December 29, Russia launched about 110 missiles at Ukraine, most of which were successfully intercepted. However, there are hits, casualties, and destruction.
