Putin is planning a visit to Turkey

This was reported by the office of the Turkish President.

“President Erdogan had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, the leaders of the two countries agreed on Putin’s visit to Turkey”, the statement said.

The Turkish leader emphasized that during the Russian-Ukrainian war, “no steps should be taken for escalation”, and he highlighted the importance of the Black Sea Initiative, which he considers a “bridge of peace”.

According to Erdogan, the prolonged suspension of the Black Sea Initiative benefits no one, and the countries in need of grain and with low incomes will suffer the most.

He also noted that grain prices, which had previously decreased by 23%, increased by 15% in the last two weeks, and added that Turkey will continue to make intensive efforts and diplomacy to continue the Black Sea Initiative.

It should be recalled that on July 19, Ukraine called on African countries to unite efforts to ensure food exports from Ukraine after Russia’s exit from the “grain agreement”.

In addition, Ukraine decided to create a temporary route to continue grain exports through the Black Sea after Russia’s exit from the “grain agreement”.

Earlier, Erdogan urged the West to accept Russia’s terms regarding the grain agreement. He also announced his intention to discuss the Black Sea Grain Initiative with Putin. Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, regarding the unblocking of the “grain corridor”.
