This information was reported by the monitoring group “Belarusian Gayun”.
According to the group’s data, on August 5th, 11 helicopters (4 Mi-8 and 7 Mi-24) of the Russian Aerospace Forces took off from the “Machulishchy” airfield to the “Sescha” airfield (Bryansk region). From the “Baranovichi” airfield, 9 Su-34 and Su-30SM fighter jets of the Russian Aerospace Forces flew to Russia.
“Most of the helicopters and aircraft that departed had been in Belarus since the beginning of January 2023, thus the aviation component of the regional military grouping in Belarus has ceased to exist”, experts noted.
As of September 1st, there was only one Su-25 ground-attack aircraft from the Russian Aerospace Forces remaining in Belarus, which arrived at “Machulishchy” on July 25th and was relocated to the “Lida” airfield on August 31st. The absence of Russian aviation in Belarus reduces the threat to Ukraine from the northern direction.
It was also reported that Russia withdrew almost all of its troops from Belarus.
