Russian forces dropped guided aerial bombs on Kharkiv, resulting in civilian casualties

Almost immediately, the head of the region, Oleg Synegubov, and the mayor of the city, Igor Terekhov, announced the strike on a residential area.

According to latest information, 18 people were affected in the city, including 4 children aged from 3 months to 9 years. Additionally, one fatality has been reported. All emergency services are currently at the scene, and a rescue operation has begun.

Several five-story residential buildings, where people lived, were severely damaged in the city. The emergency surgery institute also suffered damage.

According to local police, Kharkiv was hit by aerial bombs.

“The Shevchenko district was hit, and according to information being verified, the enemy used a cheap analogue of a cruise missile. It is the UMPB D-30 SN, based on the FAB-250. We have two strikes – the first hit a general education school, and the second hit directly into residential buildings,” wrote the chief of the Investigative Department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, Serhiy Bolvinov.

He emphasized that Russians had not used aerial bombs for strikes on residential quarters in Kharkiv for two years. These two strikes are the first in that time period.
