ZAPORIZHZHIA, UKRAINE - APRIL 20: Members of Ukrainian Armed Forces are seen during their shooting training with heavy weapons at the areas close to the frontline in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine on April 20, 2023. It is the great importance for Ukrainian military personnel to be trained with such war equipment in order to become accustomed to using various weapons purchased or sent as aid from Allied countries. Although it is not yet clear when and from which regions the counter-attack will begin, care is taken to ensure that Ukrainian soldiers can use various weapons in order to keep the defensive line and counterattack the Russian army. Anadolu Agency (AA) observed exclusively the war training program organized for Ukrainian soldiers in the Zaporizhzhia region, with the special permission from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In the training process, which was held in wide areas close to the Zaporozhian front, shooting was carried out with many weapons such as armored vehicles, anti-aircraft guns, machine guns, mortars, and anti-tank. This was revealed by Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the Unified Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces in the South, during a telethon.
“The Russians don’t know which direction our counteroffensive will come from, and they are keeping the 450 km front in our responsibility area under constant tension. Additionally, our actions and propaganda reaching deep into Crimea are causing serious concern among the occupiers”, said Humeniuk.
She noted that the defense forces are constantly monitoring the maneuvers of the occupiers. They are nervous and do not stay in one specific place. The enemy is consistently reinforcing defensive structures, and in some cases, resorting to desertion. All of this indicates the psychological and morale instability of the enemy.
It is worth recalling that earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is prepared for the counteroffensive. According to the head of state, the Ukrainian army has received “not all the weaponry it hoped for, but waiting any longer is not an option”. Zelensky warned that the operation could take a long time and come at a high cost.
