Russians have amassed hypersonic missiles in Crimea

This was reported on the “Unified News” national telethon by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, Natalia Humeniuk.

“We must understand that the enemy has several dozen similar missiles accumulated at military hubs like Crimea. And he can continue from time to time with pinpoint terror, with a focus, including on the capital”, she said.

At the same time, the use of long-range missiles, including ballistic “Zircons”, means that the air alert will spread to the Kyiv region and the northern regions of the country.

According to her, the fact that Russia continues to use ballistic missiles, not only in the southern regions but also in the capital region, indicates a certain desperation on the part of the enemy.

“This indicates that driven to a certain extent by despair, he (the enemy) is forced to use reserve means, which will lead to the so-called ‘victory’ in the rear – something they like to present in propaganda sources as strikes on decision-making centers”, explained Humeniuk.

She stated that in reality, the civilian population continues to be subjected to ordinary terror.

“We see this on the front-line territories – in Kherson region, the enemy continues to shell settlements and has returned to the tactics of using guided aerial bombs. The fact of returning to the use of tactical aviation at this front line (Kherson region) for us is a powerful signal. We need to reconfigure our defense system so that the enemy’s aviation again fears in this direction”, added Humeniuk.

The 3M22 “Zircon” missile is a ship-based hypersonic missile. Its development has been underway since 2011, while the first flight tests took place in 2015. The missile was designed to target enemy ships equipped with anti-missile and anti-aircraft defense systems.

On the morning of March 25, Russia struck Kyiv with two anti-ship missiles ZM22 “Zircon”. Both were shot down by air defense forces, but missile fragments fell in the city center, causing destruction. This is the second known use of this missile by the Russians.
