Temperature record set in Kyiv: July 6 was the hottest day in last 100 years

On Wednesday, July 6, the maximum air temperature in Kyiv reached 34.3 Celsius degrees.

The previous record was set in 1924 and was equal to 33.9 degrees, reports the Central Geophysical Observatory.

The absolute maximum air temperature in the capital for the entire time of observation remains July 30, 1936, when the thermometer was recorded at 39.4 degrees, the observatory noted.

June is one of the ten warmest months on record. Four temperature record highs were set in Kyiv over the past month.
