The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Holy See, Andriy Yurash, invited Pope Francis to pay a visit to Bucha, in the Kyiv Region. He said this in an interview with ANSA.
“Ukraine’s ambassador to the Vatican, Andriy Yurash, on Tuesday invited Pope Francis to Bucha, near Kyiv, to see for himself the evidence of russia’s war crimes in Ukraine,” the message reads.
Yurash added that the visit of the pontiff is still being discussed.
According to him, the Ukrainian side will certainly suggest that the pontiff come to Bucha to see this evidence, which moscow denies, stating that “the scenes of killed civilians were staged by Kyiv.”
Yurash noted that Kyiv would like Pope Francis to pray at the graves of innocent victims of russian atrocities.
Previously, Francisk was invited to Ukraine by Kyiv Mayor Klitschko.
