The Holy See does not exclude the visit of Pope to Kyiv in August

Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary of the Vatican for Relations with States, and International Organizations, said it in an interview with the Vaticanist Ignazio Ingrao, “Vatican News” reports.

“Pope Francis is very convinced that if he could make a visit, it would have a positive result. He said that he would go to Ukraine and has always been willing to visit Moscow and meet with the Russian authorities,” he said.

When asked whether a trip to Kyiv could take place after returning from Canada, the head of Vatican diplomacy answered:

“Yes, I think that after returning from Canada, the study of the real possibility of this will begin.”

And regarding the probability that this may happen already in August, he said:

Perhaps, I would not rule it out, but a lot depends on the results of the trip to Canada, let’s see how the pope will endure this trip, which will also be very responsible.”

Archbishop Gallagher, in his interview, said that contacts with Russia are rather institutional, mainly through the nuncio in Moscow and the Russian ambassador to the Holy See in Rome.

He also did not rule out the possibility of a meeting between the Pope and Kyrill in Kazakhstan.

“I think that if Francis and Patriarch Kyrill  go to Kazakhstan for this big conference of world religions, then the meeting will take place. It is necessary to try to overcome difficulties and misunderstandings related to the unity of the Church,” the archbishop said.

As we wrote before, the Roman Catholics invited the Pope to the church of St. Nicholas invited the Pope to the church of St. Nicholas, so that the church would be given to them for use as soon as possible.
