The Kyiv City Council approved the creation of a landscape reserve in the Protasiv Yar

This was reported by the “Protect Protasiv Yar” community, city mayor Vitaliy Klitschko in Telegram.

85 deputies of the Kyiv City Council supported the decision, activists report.

“Thank you for your courage and community support! We are aware that this is only the start. That one decision on paper cannot create a landscape reserve. We are ready and we will work on the implementation of this decision. We will defend this decision, if necessary,” the activists said.

Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko commented on the decision:

“We worked on the project of this decision together with activist Roman Ratushny, who fought for the Protasiv Yar as a green zone of the capital. And who heroically died defending Ukraine from the Russian barbarians. The creation of the nature reserve is a tribute to the memory of Roman Ratushny and a evidence that his work and the work of many Kyiv residents who fought for this green zone was not in vain. “Protasiv Yar” was saved from buildings. It is a landscape reserve! And it will delight more than one generation of Kyiv residents,” Klitschko emphasized.

The relevant decision was also supported by the Committee on Urban Planning, Architecture and Land Relations of the Kyiv City Council. Zoya Yarosh, deputy of the Kyiv City Council (“Holos” party) reported this on her Facebook.

“The Commission for Urban Planning, Architecture and Land Relations has just adopted a decision to create a landscape reserve,” she wrote.

Oleksandr Pogrebyskyi, a member of the Kyiv City Council from the “European Solidarity” party, announced that the reserve will be named in honor of Roman Ratushny.
