This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, during meetings with U.S. senators in Washington, as reported by the Ministry of Energy press service.
The Minister welcomed the decision of the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs to support the bill on transferring frozen assets of Russia to Ukraine. He emphasized that this decision is a crucial step towards justice and responsibility, and the enemy’s assets should work for Ukraine in rebuilding the devastated energy sector and fostering economic growth in our country.
He noted that the next step should be sanctions against “Rosatom” and creating all prerequisites for the world to stop using the enemy’s nuclear technologies. Halushchenko stressed that this is a matter of the near future.
“It is absurd when a country that is a member of the IAEA occupies the nuclear power plant of another IAEA country, violating all pillars of nuclear and radiation safety. Meanwhile, it continues to sell its technologies and profit from it, which is then used to fund the war”, – he said.
