The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has appointed a new director of “Defense Procurement Agency”

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense press service.

Bezrukova replaces Volodymyr Pikuz, who was removed from the position in early January 2024 amid a scandal surrounding Igor Hrynkevych’s criminal scheme.

The Ministry of Defense is restructuring procurement architecture to prevent corruption and meet NATO standards. The change in management is the first step toward a significant overhaul of the Defense Procurement Agency.

The priority is timely and quality provision of all necessary supplies to the military without room for corruption, as stated by Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov.

Bezrukova, with over 20 years of supply chain management experience, previously worked at “Ukrenergo” for five years in various roles, including a member of the board and director of supply chain management.

The change in leadership is the initial step in transforming the Defense Procurement Agency, with the next stage involving the creation of a Supervisory Board comprising professional and competent managers of international caliber.

Marina Bezrukova holds a master’s degree in finance and law from Taras Shevchenko National University (2001, 2007) and an MBA in business management from Kyiv School of Economics (2020). She has worked in the corporate sector in various segments of the economy before joining Ukrenergo in January 2017.
