The reconnaissance has counted how many Russians have been thrown into the resistance against the Ukrainian counteroffensive

This was reported by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Andrii Cherniak, in a comment to RBK-Ukraine.

“We are not currently observing any troop withdrawals in either the Zaporizhzhia or Kherson regions. Yes, there is some movement – they are taking something out, evacuating someone, trying to steal something, but we do not see any real withdrawal of combat units. For example, in Enerhodar – they are not leaving there, but they are taking everything they can steal, transport, and take away, such as cars, equipment from hospitals. They are well aware that there will be fighting there”, Cherniak said.

According to him, the Russians in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region are preparing to resist the counteroffensive, reinforcing existing fortifications and building new ones.

“The enemy understands that they no longer have any forces for any active offensive actions. The only task they face is to hold the positions they currently have. There is absolutely no talk of any further offensive”, Cherniak emphasized.

According to him, this can even be seen in the statement of the spokesperson for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, who recently claimed that Russia is not at war. This is a message that is already spreading both among Russian propaganda and among their troops, Cherniak said.

“We are observing the same processes in the occupied part of the Kherson region. The personnel remain there. They will defend themselves, and they are building defensive structures there”, Cherniak added.

Overall, according to him, the Russians have concentrated approximately 152,000 personnel on the occupied territories of these two regions.
