The show trial of Ukrainian prisoners of war from the “Aidar” battalion has begun in Russia

This information is reported by Russian media.

The Ukrainian defenders are accused of alleged “participation in a terrorist organization”, “violent seizure of power and change of the constitutional order” in the so-called “DPR” (so-called Donetsk People’s Republic).

“Aidar” was one of the first volunteer battalions that started defending the eastern borders of the Luhansk region in May 2014. From 2014 to 2022, the battalion was under the command of the Eastern Operational Command.

Since the end of 2022, it has been under the command of the Ground Forces Command. In 2022-2023, the battalion actively participated in the battles for Bakhmut.
