Kyiv City Council reported.
The report noted that the yellow-eared turtle Tora, which survived the shelling of a residential building in the Obolon district, has already gotten used to the new environment of the Kyiv Zoo.
“After losing her home, Tora’s owners decided to transfer the animal to the Kyiv Zoo, where comfortable conditions have been created for her. After a complete medical examination of the animal, quarantine and necessary laboratory tests, Tora joined the friendly family of water turtles. Now her daily rituals include swimming in a spacious pool and warming up under a lamp on a special island,” the Kyiv Zoo said.
And they added that all those willing have the opportunity to meet Tora and her new “relatives” in the premises of the Aquaterrarium of the Kyiv zoo.
In March, due to the shelling of a residential building in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv, a turtle was thrown out of the apartment window of the 2nd floor by an explosive wave. After flying several tens of meters, Tora fell into the grass and escaped.
