The Ukrainian Armed Forces drove out Russians from positions near Avdiivka

This was stated by the spokesman for the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Pavlo Kovalchuk.

“During the offensive operations conducted by the Defense Forces, the enemy was forced to withdraw from positions south of Avdiivka”, he said.

He also reported that Ukrainian troops continue to hold back the Russian occupiers’ advancement on the Kupiansk and Lyman directions.

“At the same time, on the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces continue to advance south of the city of Bakhmut”, the military official noted.

According to Kovalchuk, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions north and west of Klyshivka, as well as north-west of Kurdiumivka.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the counteroffensive, the Ukrainian military has been able to liberate an area of approximately 241 square kilometers in the southern and eastern parts of the country.
