The Ukrainian MFA has reported progress in negotiations regarding the provision of Taurus missiles

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian MFA.

“We discussed in detail the provision of German long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. Today, we have a better understanding of the peculiarities of the decision-making process within the German government. Ukraine is ready to do everything necessary to expedite this process. Following the negotiations, I can say that the option of providing these missiles remains open, and the decision-making process within Germany is progressing”, Minister Kuleba stated.

The Ukrainian Minister thanked Germany for its robust defense support and highlighted the effectiveness of the German Gepard systems.

Minister Kuleba emphasized that the negotiations focused on strengthening Ukraine’s air defense ahead of the upcoming winter season and potential attacks on the energy system from Russia.

He also mentioned that the parties extensively discussed Germany’s and German companies’ participation in Ukraine’s first Defense Industry Forum, which will take place soon. Minister Kuleba added that the German government and defense companies have shown a high level of interest in the event and will actively participate in it.

Additionally, the Foreign Ministers agreed to work together on the return of Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russian occupiers.

It is worth noting that on September 4th, it was reported in the Bundestag that Olaf Scholz, as the only member of the coalition, was blocking the supply of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. Furthermore, Dmytro Kuleba mentioned that the decision to transfer Taurus missiles to Ukraine rests on the desk of the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz.
