Ukraine and Germany have signed a security agreement

This was announced in a statement from the Office of the President.

It is noted that Zelensky arrived at the Federal Chancellery of Germany in Berlin, where his negotiations with the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz began. “The leaders plan to discuss further support for Ukraine in defense, political, and financial spheres. Following the negotiations, the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Security between Ukraine and the Federal Republic of Germany is planned”, the statement said.

The Office of the President also reported that Zelensky and Scholz will also discuss support for Ukraine on the path to NATO membership.

During President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Berlin, Ukraine and Germany signed a bilateral security agreement on security cooperation. It will continue the G7 declarations on “security assurances” for Ukraine.

This information was confirmed in a comment to “European Pravda” by spokesperson Serhiy Nikiforov. Details will be announced after the briefing of Zelensky with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, which will take place at 12:45 in Berlin.

Munich Security Conference: what is known

It should be recalled that earlier, the Office of the President confirmed that Zelensky will hold talks with Olaf Scholz and Emmanuel Macron, as well as participate in the Munich Security Conference.

President of Ukraine is scheduled to speak on the second day of the Munich Conference on February 17. Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine will present its vision for 2024 at the MSC 2024.

The conference will address a range of current issues, including the role of Europe in security and defense, the new vision of the global order, the consequences of climate change, technological progress, and more. In addition, assistance to Ukraine in repelling full-scale Russian aggression is expected to be one of the key issues at the conference.

Representatives of Germany and France have confirmed that bilateral security agreements with Ukraine will be signed during the conference.
