Ukraine and Spain Sign Security Agreement

This was announced on the official website of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

“We have just signed a political agreement that holds significant importance. This is a treaty about the future and is a testament to our determination to provide Ukraine with all necessary tools to ensure its stability. We are now the tenth country to sign such an agreement with Ukraine, following the G7 declaration last year”, stated Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.

Prime Minister Sánchez emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine in financial, military, and other areas throughout the war.

The agreement will include support in the form of weaponry, assistance in reconstruction, and demining efforts.

Additionally, the Spanish Prime Minister announced that in 2024, Spain will provide a military aid package worth 1 billion euros. By 2027, this support will amount to 5 billion euros through the European Peace Facility. These funds will be allocated for financial and military cooperation, including strengthening air defense, reconstruction, and demining operations. He also announced joint defense projects for the supply of ammunition and armored vehicles. This marks the tenth country with which Ukraine has established security agreements.
