After a prolonged absence of reaction to the man-made catastrophe caused by the Russian Federation, Ukraine decided to remind the UN on Twitter that Russia is an aggressor country.
On the morning of June 6, the United Nations published a post about the “Day of the Russian Language”, despite the fact that Russian occupiers had carried out a terrorist attack at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station that night.
Only 13 hours after the explosion, an abstract post appeared on the official UN page that made no mention of Russian aggression in any way.
The organization stated that “civilians and civilian infrastructure cannot be targets. They must be protected. At all times. Everywhere.”
It should be noted that the UN has still not managed to properly react to the terrorist attack or condemn Russian aggression in Ukraine.
As we reported, on the night of June 6, the Russian army carried out a horrific act of terrorism by detonating the dam of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station. As a result of this crime, approximately 80 settlements are now in the flood zone.
Scientists from Kherson University have warned about the potential consequences of the explosion, including the drainage of the reservoir, water contamination, and the disappearance of flora and fauna.
Additionally, the temporarily occupied Crimea has been left without water due to the drop in water levels in the North Crimean Canal, and Zaporizhia has also experienced a noticeable decrease in water levels in the Dnieper River due to the explosion at the power station.
The world is reacting to another war crime committed by Russia. The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, President of Moldova Maia Sandu, and the UK Foreign Minister James Cleverly have condemned the terrorist act by the Russian aggressors at the dam.
As expected, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, have responded by blaming the Ukrainian government for everything, disregarding accusations against Russia regarding the explosion at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station.
