Ukraine exports $3.8 B worth of goods in Oct – Economy Ministry

That’s according to the Deputy Minister of Economy – Trade Envoy Taras Kachka.

“In general, the value of exports amounted to $3.8 billion. This is 8.2% lower than in September. This was due to both a decrease in export volumes and a decrease in world prices for both food and industrial goods. Imports, on the other hand, increased by 2.6 percent, to $4.6 billion, although the volumes slightly decreased by 3.1% to $2.01 million tonnes. 25% of the import volume and 16% of the value are petroleum products,” Kachka said.

Out of 3.8 billion exports, 2.5 billion are accounted for by the EU. Among the member states, Poland ($560 million), Romania ($412 million), Germany ($233 million), Hungary ($187 million) and Spain ($186 million) take the lead. The rest of the world bought goods worth 1.3 billion dollars. Turkey ($234 million), China ($152 million), India ($112 million), USA (76 million), Moldova ($76 million).

“India’s role in trade is interesting – India bought 21.7% of the total volume of sunflower oil in October. And this is an example of how important the grain corridor is for India,” Kachka noted.

In general, over the 10 months, the total trade turnover amounted to $80.3 billion, of which $36.9 billion was accounted for by exports and $43.4 billion by imports. Compared to 10 months of 2021, this is a decrease in exports by 32.3% and imports – by 23.9%, respectively.

Іn September, for the first time since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine exported over $4 billion worth of goods in a month.
