This was stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
“We consider the sabotage of the Kahovska Hydroelectric Power Station by the Russian Federation as a terrorist act against Ukrainian critical infrastructure, aimed at causing maximum casualties and destruction. The terrorist act at the Kahovska Hydroelectric Power Station was previously actively discussed among the occupying forces in the Kherson region and Russian television propagandists, which indicates its premeditation”, the statement reads.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the sabotage of the Kahovska Hydroelectric Power Station has become the largest man-made catastrophe in decades and another manifestation of the genocide against Ukrainians by Russia.
“As a result of the National Security and Defense Council meeting on the morning of June 6, the proposed list of actions by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was agreed upon by Minister Dmytro Kuleba in the context of response, which includes the convening of an emergency session of the UN Security Council by Ukraine and the inclusion of the issue of the Russian terrorist act in the agenda of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), as well as the involvement of the European Union’s Civil Protection Mechanism”, the ministry reported.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called on the G7 and the European Union to urgently consider imposing new sanctions against Russia targeting the missile industry and the nuclear sector.
