Ukraine seizes a share of the Zaporizhzhia Steel Works from the Russians

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this.

“Today is our sanctions day. There are several packages of sanctions, I have signed the corresponding decrees… We are launching the procedure for confiscating the Russian share – it will work for Ukraine and Ukrainians”, he stated.

The President noted that the sanctions list includes 41 individuals (13 people and 28 companies). According to him, Russia used them to maintain control over the enterprise and harm the Ukrainian economy.

As reported, on April 22, President Volodymyr Zelensky put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of April 22 on the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions).

Public Joint Stock Company Zaporizhzhia Steel Works is one of the leading companies in the metallurgical industry. It is the third largest producer of metal products in Ukraine.
