Ukrainian air defense forces shoot down Shahed drones using Polish systems – Zaluzhnyi

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi said this in a Telegram post.

“Over the past 48 hours, units of the air defense missile division shot down 9 of 11 Shahed-136 UAVs. This is the result of the high-quality training of our anti-aircraft gunners, which was conducted by Polish brothers,” he wrote.

He noted Poland provided the systems using which Ukrainian forces shoot down enemy Shahed-136 drones with Soviet missiles.

“These are the realities of today’s war. I’m grateful to our Polish brothers!” Zaluzhnyi wrote.

On October 10, the Russian Federation carried out a massive missile attack on Ukraine’s territory. 84 cruise missiles and 24 drones were launched. As a result of the strikes, critical infrastructure facilities were damaged, power supply and mobile communications were interrupted in some areas.
