Washington prepared to prevent DPRK from supplying arms to Russia – State Department

U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said this during a Washington briefing Wednesday.

Just as the U.S. is using all the tools available to counter the supply of Iranian weapons to Russia, it will act in a similar way in the case of such arms supplies by DPRK, said the official representative of the State Department.

He emphasized that it is about the application of sanctions, as well as additional tools of influence to counter this activity, including appeals to other governments.

The Department of State believes that this is the responsibility of countries around the world, especially those that have leverage over the North Korean regime, which the United States in some cases does not have, Price said.

He emphasized that all responsible nations, especially permanent members of the UN Security Council, are obliged to fully comply with the requirements of sanctions introduced by the UNSC.

The U.S. will continue to explore ways to hold North Korea accountable not only for its programs of developing weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles, but also for any further supply of weapons to Russia, the State Department spokesman emphasized.

Оn Wednesday, the White House said North Korea had been supplying large batches of artillery munitions to Russia for their use in the war on Ukraine.
