President Zelensky revealed this information himself.
“During the hour-long conversation, we discussed the entire complex of relevant issues in bilateral relations. Special attention was paid to ways of possible cooperation in establishing a fair and sustainable peace for Ukraine”, the President stated.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine is exercising its right to self-defense. He emphasized that the peace China proposes must be fair and sustainable, based on the principles of international law and respect for the UN Charter.
“There can be no peace at the expense of territorial compromises. The territorial integrity of Ukraine must be restored within the boundaries of 1991”, the President said confidently.
Zelensky also revealed that during the conversation, the leaders discussed ways to strengthen the Ukrainian-Chinese partnership, as China was Ukraine’s number one trading partner before the full-scale Russian invasion.
