He made this statement at a joint briefing with the leaders of North European countries in Helsinki.
“We are not attacking Putin or Moscow. We are fighting on our own territory, defending our villages and cities. We do not even have enough weapons for this, which is why we do not use it elsewhere. This is why we have a shortage. We did not attack Putin. We will leave that to the tribunal”, he emphasized.
Zelensky stressed that Russia has no victories on the front, Putin can no longer motivate Russian society and send soldiers to war for no reason, so he is interested in accusing Ukraine of some “crimes”.
It should be recalled that on May 3, the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation announced that Ukraine attempted to attack the Kremlin with UAVs. Propagandists reported that the Kremlin was attacked with drones.
In Russia, this was called a terrorist act, and they said that they reserve the right to take measures in response “there and then, where and when they deem necessary”.
Later, the spokesperson for President Zelensky, Serhiy Nikiforov, said that Ukraine has no information about the so-called night attacks on the Kremlin.
Also the advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podoliak, emphasized that Ukraine is conducting exclusively a defensive war and is not attacking objects on Russian territory, since this does not solve any military task but gives Russia grounds to justify its attacks on civilians.
