Zelensky will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

This was reported to Interfax-Ukraine by the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel.

“After the conclusion of the Jewish New Year, Benjamin Netanyahu will fly to the United States, where he will address the UN General Assembly (Friday, September 22), and also hold a series of bilateral meetings. Among the scheduled meetings is a meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. This will be the first personal meeting since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. Netanyahu has faced strong criticism for being the only leader of a democratic country who has not dared to visit Kyiv”, the statement reads.

In addition, it was announced that the meeting between Netanyahu and Biden will take place within the framework of the General Assembly, rather than separately at the White House, as the Israeli side had desired.

“The reluctance of the American administration to host Netanyahu in Washington, as well as the long-standing refusal of a bilateral meeting with the President of the United States, was a clear and harsh signal to the Israeli leader regarding the policy pursued by Israel both domestically and in the region”, the embassy stated.
