A blacksmith created the Cossack sculpture from the fragment of the russian “Iskander’ in Pereyaslav region

In the Kyiv region, a blacksmith created a Cossack sculpture from enemy Iskander missile fragment. The publication Pereiaslav.city tells about the master.

Yuriy Savyhin is 64 years old, in his forties he started to practice a Blacksmith Crafts. In 2007, he left Kyiv and moved to Tashan village in Pereyaslav Region. He bought a house in the village, equipped a small forge in the yard and makes park sculptures from metal.

The Cossack sculpture with a cross stands in the yard near the forge. It is not quite ordinary, because it is made partly from the Russian Iskander missile, which was shot down by Ukrainian soldiers over Kapustnytsy in the spring and fell on a farmer’s field.

The author worked 12 hours a day for three months on the creation of the sculpture.

“They brought me a piece of that fear (missile fragment – ed.). And it was difficult to forge it, because the missile is made of an extremely strong alloy, which is almost impossible to process. However, I managed: as the Ukrainian soldiers shot down that monster, so I reforged the racist deadly evil on such a peaceful boy! It was difficult, as never before, but it was a consolation for the master: to turn what was evil into something for people’s joy,” Savyhin said.

“I liked it so much, it really touched my heart. And now I have been engaged in this business for a quarter of a century,” he said.

He also talked about his first sculpture.

“It was the Silver pirate. With a piece of wood instead of a leg, with a bandage over one eye, a triangular hat on his head and a parrot on his shoulder. An artist he knew saw him and advised him to do just such park sculptures. He says, leave all that trifle, fences, gates, flowers, and do the real thing – only sculptures,” Savyhin shares.

The man says that he does not know how to draw at all, so he creates all his works without sketches, all ideas comes from his imagination.
