Oleksandr Vozniy, head of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources, announced this.
According to him, in the summer when people buy more water in disposable plastic bottles increases many times, and accordingly, the number of bottles that end up in the trash increases.
So, the project is aimed at encouraging Kyiv residents to abandon water in plastic botles and use reusable bottles instead.
“How will it work? There will be a special sticker on the doors of catering establishments that will join our initiative. When you see it, you go inside and fill your eco-bottle with filtered water for free without any questions. A map of these places will be available in the Kyiv Digital App, same to that you can see the “petrol station” closest to you,” explains Vozniy.
He added that the owners of catering establishments are ready to join the project.
