Denmark will contribute 7 million euros for the purchase of equipment to restore Ukraine’s energy infrastructure

This was announced by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The first four million euros from this amount will arrive shortly, while the remaining three will be sent later. The ministry stated that these funds will be directed to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine.

At the inception of the fund, Denmark became its first sponsor. The country contributed 536,000 euros, which were used to purchase energy equipment for 10 Ukrainian energy companies.

The Energy Support Fund was established in spring 2022 through a joint initiative of Ukrainian Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson. This initiative provides an opportunity for governments, international financial organizations, and private donors to offer substantial support to Ukraine’s energy sector.

Previously, it was reported that Denmark would allocate a 40.2 million euro aid package to Ukraine for reconstruction purposes. These funds are intended for the purchase of 20 mobile heating boilers for Mykolaiv, as well as repairs to its centralized heating system.
