This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
“During the visit, ICC experts visited around 10 locations where evidence of war crimes against the civilian population was documented, including torture and killings in places of illegal detention, indiscriminate shelling of areas with large concentrations of people, medical facilities, and residential buildings”, the statement said.
It was noted that the evidence collected during the visit could be crucial in proving international crimes in Ukraine, and everyone responsible for these crimes, including high-ranking officials, must be held accountable.
Earlier, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, visited the sites of war crimes committed by Russians in Kyiv region. And Prosecutor General Kostin announced that the results of the International Criminal Court’s investigation into Russian war crimes in Ukraine could be seen as early as this year.
Recall that on March 17, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and his authorized representative for children’s rights, Maria Lvova-Belova.
