Finland arrests fighter of the Russian nazi group “Rusich” upon Kyiv’s request

This was reported by the Finnish channel MTV3.

According to the report, the arrested individual’s name is Yan Petrovsky. He is subject to sanctions imposed by the EU and the US. According to EU sanctions, Petrovsky is held accountable for actions that threaten Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence. He is suspected of committing terrorist crimes in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions from June 2014 to August 2015.

According to the US Department of the Treasury, Petrovsky assumed the role of commanding the forces of the “Rusich” paramilitary group after 2022. This group was involved in clashes with the Ukrainian volunteer battalion “Aidar” in September 2014.

Currently, it is known that Ukraine has already requested his extradition.
