Finland will present a plan for the reconstruction of Ukraine

This was discussed by the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland, Ville Tavio, in an interview with Ukrinform.

‘Ukraine can count on our support in the future to overcome the significant consequences of Russian aggression. Finland is preparing to take part in the reconstruction process and is developing a national plan for reconstruction in collaboration with the private sector. The first part of the plan will be published by the end of this year. It will focus on how the Finnish private sector can contribute to Ukraine’s restoration. Soon after, the second part will be prepared. It will consider Finnish support for Ukraine in a broader context, including cooperation in development’, Tavio reported.

The minister emphasized that Finnish companies have significant experience necessary to contribute to Ukraine’s reconstruction.

‘We can participate, for example, in energy-efficient and environmentally friendly construction, the energy sector, transitioning to renewable energy sources, managing water resources and waste, in telecommunications, education, and the rule of law. I believe these are the areas that align well with Ukraine’s current needs’, highlighted Tavio.

In this context, the Finnish government official noted that the international exhibition and conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine, titled ReBuild Ukraine Powered by Energy, scheduled for November 14-15 in Warsaw, would be ‘a great opportunity for over 40 Finnish companies to negotiate with Ukrainian partners and learn more about ways to participate in the enormous efforts for the reconstruction of Ukraine’
